On images #2

Gah, so I tried to resize them but sadly only the Nexus Beats picture shows up properly. I will eventually host my own versions of these covers so sit tight.

On images

As you may have noticed, a number of these images are cut off. Hold tight, because I need to come up with a uniform image size for this blog. So yeah, if it bothers you that much, hunt me down and yell at me to resize it.

Artist: V.A.
Release: 2006
Album: Nexus Beats vol. 1

Comments: I had to type out that entire track listing AND provide a picture of the cover. This is definitely the most obscure of the bunch. How does the music measure up? It's not stellar, but it's a decent sampler of dubstep which is a genre I don't care about that much. It's not that exciting but it's definitely not bad. Try if you're curious enough, you may like it.

Controlled Developments - Source Direct

Track Listing

Artist: Source Direct
Release: 1997
Album: Controlled Developments

Comments: I would best describe this as dnb with an industrial feel. This influence is more pronounced than in, say, The Prodigy's similar releases. I personally didn't like this all too much just because when I think of 90s dnb, I think of when The Prodigy was actually good. That being said, I've definitely heard worse, but this didn't do it for me.

Distances - H.U.V.A. Network

Track listing

Artist: H.U.V.A Network
Release: 2004
Album: Distances

Comments: Trance-y ambient. It gets a little boring considering how long this album is and it doesn't innovate too much, but it's perfect music to play if you just want to relax or have to get some work done. Background music, if you will. Obviously don't download if you need exciting, upbeat music but if you're the type of person who likes music playing in the background while you go about your daily business, you should download this.

The Dusk - ВсполоХ (Vspolox)

Track Listing:
1. Solntsevorot Kres (intro)
2. Soaring on Nightwings
3. Into the Majestic Eeriej
4. The Dusk
5. By The Forest Path (outro)

Artist: Vspolox
Release: 2007
Album: The Dusk

Comments: This release is apparently so rare that it's not listed in M-A's database nor is there a track listing for it (yay me being lazy). Well, unlike Pussygutt, this is actual metal. Russian black metal. Wait! Before you turn away from something that looks like some some shitty obscure poorly recorded kvlt bullshit or noise bm, give it a chance. This is neither of those, but it's not exactly clean either. It sounds slightly generic but since it's quite a pleasant listen, it's not too bothersome. It helps that I listened to this doing my homework, haha. So yeah, I liked this.

She Hid Behind Her Veil - Pussygutt

Artist: Pussygutt (now known as Wolvserpent)
Release: 2009
Album: She Hid Behind Her Veil

Comments: The entire album is a single 49 minute track so no track listing is necessary. Anyways, this particular release confounded me because at first I thought it was funeral doom but apparently it's not metal. C'mon internet, give me an answer! Anyways, I bought this out of curiosity and while it tends to be repeating, I'm not disappointed. I can best describe this as a dark ambient experience that isn't metal, but sure gives off funeral doom vibes. So if you like ambient and/or funeral doom, I would recommend checking this out. I liked it.

New uploads coming soon

Even though college is being...college-y, I'm not the poorest of students so I picked up some nice CDs yesterday. I haven't listened to them yet, but somehow I archived and uploaded all of them to Mediafire already! But I have to give my opinion first, so...yeah. :P

Also, apparently my most popular uploads are the Clicks & Cuts Compilation and the Einhander Arrangement. I don't know which is in first because Einhander was uploaded on Megaupload and I don't have an account so I have no statistics. Clicks & Cuts has a grand total of....24 downloads! When you're excited about 24, you aren't that popular but at least some people are enjoying it! Those two are probably my favorite uploads, to be quite honest (along with Wijlen Wij). If you care to read this, you must somehow care for this blog so I encourage you to download whatever else I have unless I say it's shitty (which is only the case for that one Dance thing and the majority of DJMax). I'll bring it over to Mireille to end this...

See ya real soon for some new RARE uploads!

Hardcore Til I Die [3 Discs] - V.A

http://www.discogs.com/Re-Con-Squad-E-Hardcore-Til-I-Die-3/release/2461441
-> track list

Artist: Re-Con & Squad-E
Release: 2010
Album: Hardcore Til I Die 3

Comments: Absolutely stellar hhc compilation, and I'm barely done with the first disc. Apparently each disc has a different motif. The artists are officially Re-Con and Squad-E, but this is really a compilation of many different hhc artists we know and love, such as Hixxy, Breeze, Dougal & Gammer, and more. In other words, don't fret, the typical favorites are on here. I'm a huge fan of HTID, so the newest entry in the series was one of my first purchases with my new credit card, haha. It took 2 weeks to import this from the UK, but it was worth it. Seriously though, this is a great listen and probably one of the best releases of 2010. A number of songs are really fun, but I'll leave it up to you listeners to see what those fun songs are.

This is the only upload on the internet of this release that uses Mediafire, so you're welcome. I will probably not upload in wav because the file size would be too large and it's just too much trouble. Be grateful I'm sharing this and doing you a favor with upping this on Mediafire. :P
